Municipal Energy Efficiency Program Phase-II

Location: 149 ULBs and 7 Municipal Corporations of Gujarat, India

Project Description: The project involves installation of Energy Saving Devices through ESCOs in Street Lighting and Water & Sewage Pumping systems to improve the service delivery and reduce the energy consumption.
Municipal Energy Efficiency Project, Gujarat is one of the largest energy efficiency projects to be implemented through EPC by the ESCOs on shared savings model. The project period is 7 years.
Annual energy bill of all 149 ULBs and 7 Municipal Corporations is of the order of ` 300 Crores per year. The energy saving measures proposed by the ESCOs would result energy savings of INR 85 Crs per year. The project is getting technical support from ECO-III (USAID, IRG and Alliance to Save Energy) and BEE, New Delhi.

Client: Government of Gujarat, Contracting Authority-GUDC.

Project Status: 17 ESCOs short listed. 3rd Party M&V agency selection is going on.
