DPR on Municipal Solid Waste Management facility consisting of Sanitary Landfill and Composting Plant under JnNURM at Nanded, Maharashtra

Location: Nanded Town, Maharashtra

Project Description: Nanded is one of the cities selected under JNNURM of Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. The city with a population of five lakhs generates about 185 Metric Tons of municipal solid waste daily that comprises of wastes from households, markets, commercial areas, public and private institutions, Sachkhand Gururdwara, road sweeping and drain cleaning. The Nanded Waghala City Municipal Corporation (NWCMC) has acquired land for SWM, admeasuring 12.68 hectare near Kiwla village in Loha Taluka at a distance of about 18 Km from Nanded city. The Company was bestowed with responsibility of preparing the Concept Design for Solid Waste Management of the City and further the detail designing of the same, per the JnNURM guidelines.

Services Provided: The objective of the assignment is to formulate a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to address the waste management requirements of the city by means of a waste collection, segregation, transportation and disposal system and treatment as per Municipal Solid Waste Rules, 2000 to obtain approval of JnNURM and funding for the project from JnNURM. The DPR consist of Detailed Engineering and Design, Bill of Quantities for a Sanitary Landfill and Composting Plant and an implementation strategy that involves Public private partnership in a BOOT model.
